Hi there, and welcome to The Dealers Diary - my musings on the cannabis industry in California, New York and Washington, and building Halara.

If you missed past emails, I recommend checking out the Dealers page where you can see the past emails I sent.

In today's entry: our first 3,000 Minnesota carts | three new rosin AIOs | Pineapple Express is back

The Dealers Desk

Hey Dealers,

Okay, I know I've been teasing y'all with the promise of a fourth state coming online and And I'm super excited to tell you that it's official now.

I'm writing this one on the plane back to Seattle from Minnesota, where yesterday we made our very first Halara carts in the state! 3,000 carts across three strains (Blue Dream, Pineapple Express and Granddaddy Purple), and I got to stand in the factory and watch them come off the line:

One of the first Halara carts made in Minnesota, a Blue Dream

The first Minnesota carts, a Blue Dream

Then I sold all 3,000 that same day to one of our buyer friends at a large store chain out here, which I can’t lie felt really great. So I'll be heading back out soon for the next run.

Now they just have to clear state testing, which takes about three or four weeks, so they should hit Minnesota shelves around the end of October or early November. Fingers crossed. I'll tell y'all which shops the week they land, and if you're in Minnesota (or have friends there) hit reply and tell me where else you want to find Halara. I read every reply.

This feels so tiny for us and our batch sizes in CA are way bigger than this whoel run but we are one of the very first vape companies in MN. When I tell you it was a knife fight to get oil and get our stuff filled I’m telling the truth. There was none to be had pretty much in the whole state. But it feels damn good to be back in our home state finally! (we’re all from MN initially)

Been really crazy this week with this so here’s to new expansions and life going well! Everyday feels like a new adventure right now

Onwards and upwards,

-Malcolm

What We're Seeing

  • Every Fire OG cart in this run plants a tree. It's one tree per cart through One Tree Planted, and we donate the whole count once the batch sells through. It's a limited Resin Sauce cart run, California only, and when it's gone it's gone until the OG Kush sourcing lines up again. If you want to know who else makes a Fire OG cart (and how ours compares), Nick wrote it all up: Best Fire OG Carts in California.

  • Three new solventless rosin AIOs just landed in California. Papaya SL is the indica (same Citral #13 x Ice #2 cultivar as our Papaya sauce, pressed into rosin instead), Tropicana Gelato is the sativa with tangie up front, and Sour Diesel Runtz is the hybrid. They're 100% solventless and California only, and they're taking the spots of Superboof Bomb, Gas Nana and Sour Gummiez, which all sold out. Taste the Flower: the rosin lineup.

Strain Spotlight

Halara Pineapple Express all-in-one

Pineapple Express, High THC all-in-one

Pineapple Express is back in California after being out since mid-September, and we refilled it deep this time so it should stick around for a while.

The weed has notes of pineapple and coconut, and it's a daytime one for me. It's also #3 on our latest Pistil top sellers read, up a spot, which is lovely to see for a strain that was missing from shelves for a few weeks. If you're new around here, it's a pretty good place to start with our smooth, high-THC all-in-ones (the ones built not to clog). Ask your budtender, or find a shop near you.

This one came in on a Pineapple Express survey.

Weekly Munchies

This Mediterranean chicken and roasted eggplant bowl was super healthy, and my fiancée and I both loved it (the red cabbage adds a nice little crunch).

P.S - My Weekly Bops

P.S. All three of these got blasted at a wedding we went to recently, so they've been stuck in my head ever since. The first two are great, and the Pokémon theme is in here because hearing it at a wedding was really funny.
